Tanu Weds Manu is a 2011 Indian romantic comedy film, directed by Anand L. Rai, written by Jisshu Sengupta and produced by Siddhartha Basu under the banner of Vishesh Films. It stars Kangana Ranaut and Rohan Bhatia in lead roles while Armaan Mallik is a supporting actor in the movie along with Rajat Kapoor and Tota Roy Chowdhury. The film released on 8 September 2011 in India. It was filmed partly in London and partly at MPC Film City, Chennai. Bollywood Hungama (Vinayak Chakravorty) gave the film 3 out of 5 calling the film "Anu Mallik's music aptly complements the moods of the story. The background score quite often steals the thunder from the songs. Cinematography by Digvijay S Kulkarni is rich and colourful." Rediff (Raja Sen) gave it 2 out of 5 stars, calling it "derivative, dreary, dud". The Times of India (Anupriya Pandey) gave it 2 out of 5 stars, claiming that "Tanu Weds Manu is all about one`s hope for your idealistic dreams to come true. And that is what you expect from a movie like Tanu Weds Manu. But the movie just doesn't live up to its title". The Hindu (Nandini Ramnath) gave the film 2 out of 5 stars, calling it "a forgettable romantic-comedy." The story begins with Tanu (Kangana Ranaut), a newly married woman, who is staying with her husband Vasudev (Rajat Kapoor) and parents in Hyderabad. One day, Vasudev tells her that he has decided to move to London so that they can be together. Tanu is upset about this and begs him not to leave her alone in Hyderabad. Vasudev leaves for his new life anyway. Tanu then faces the problem of leaving her parents behind because she has to work as well. She decides to take care of herself and manages to move into a room herself without asking anybody's help. She then receives a call that Vasudev has come back but decides not to tell anyone about it, not even the family members living with her. He moves in secretly and the fun begins. Tanu is still not comfortable with Vasudev staying with her, so she starts to act as if Vasudev is her husband, Manu (Rohan Bhatia). After this, Tanu finds herself confused about her feelings about Vasudev and Manu. She finds herself attracted to Manu more than to Vasudev. Tanu then finds out that she is pregnant and meets with an accident. She then finds out that she has lost the baby, but doesn't tell anyone until the time comes for her to go to the hospital for delivery.The music was composed by Anu Malik while lyrics were penned by Shabbir Ahmed. cfa1e77820
